This concept also honours the club’s beginnings 30 years ago when the hopes and dreams of the rugby league community came to life with the birth of the Warriors. The kaokao (zigzag) patterns on the front reflect life’s journey, with the white space between the lines representing the first light of dawn – a symbol of new beginnings, of futures yet written and the promise that lies just beyond the horizon. On the back, the kaokao design speaks to the movement of a waka (canoe) – tacking, weaving, navigating its way across uncharted waters. It is a tribute to the past, to the warriors who came before, charting the course so that others might follow.
